Alessandra was born in Rome. Since she was a child, she has always shown a deep interest in materials, colors and everything that in the infinite combinations could support her creativity. After an artistic training, she attended the History and Conservation of Cultural Heritage course at the Roma Tre University. The discovery of the mosaic came as a shock. After two years of apprenticeship in the Roman Studio Cassio, where she began studying mosaic and collaborating on their commissions, she decided to make her training professional level, following the 3-year course at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli (SMF) and obtaining the Diploma of "Mosaicist Master" with full marks. During this time she won the Best Final Essay award for two consecutive years.She took part in the fourth year of the SMF reserved for the six best students graduates.In 2015 Alessandra joined Romuald Mesdagh's Artefact Mosaic Studio, and together in 2016 moved their headquarters from Spilimbergo to Venice. Here in the Castello neighbour they have their own workshop, where they make mosaics on commission for international clients, teach to professionals and beginners and have recently added the VÉ-RO line of jewelry. Over the years she has taught short courses at SMF, Artefact Mosaic Studio in Venice, Belgium and Israel.

He was born in Belgium.Since he was a boy he has been curious and led to develop an incredible variety of interests. Paintings, music and photography, but also sports such as mountaineering, climbing, rafting and paragliding. After graduating in Art, he dedicated his youth to sports studies, becoming a Master and Guide in numerous disciplines. He joined the French Companions, a prestigious association of craft disciplines, which allowed him to take part in the construction of luxury chalets through traditional techniques that employ the reuse of centuries-old woods.In 2009 he chose to study mosaic at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli (SMF), the only institute in the world to provide a professional training of the highest level. Here he obtained the Diploma of “Mosaic Master” and was chosen for the fourth post-diploma year reserved for the six best students. In 2012 Romuald founded Artefact Mosaic Studio to offer his professionalism to the creation of mosaics and teaching. After teaching at SMF for short courses, he is called to various parts of the world including Canada, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Israel to teach mosaic techniques.In 2015 he took part in the group of restorers employed by the United Nations to restore the precious eighth-century mosaics of the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. In 2016 Artefact Mosaic Studio opens in Venice, in the heart of the historic center. Romuald returned to his grandparents' city, bringing the traditional mosaic craft back to the lagoon. Here, together with Alessandra, he works on the creation of mosaics for international clients and teaches to professionals .
